A lifeline to learning: Leveraging technology to support education for refugees
This 2018 UNESCO report seeks to analyze “current experiences, lessons learned and emerging practices in mobile solutions in the field of education for refugees.” By outlining innovative technologies, determining challenges and offering recommendations, UNESCO aims to enable policymakers, administrators and teachers to provide equitable education to diverse and disadvantaged students. In this regard, UNESCO highlights the work of OpenEMIS Jordan and OpenEMIS Malaysia to demonstrate how “documentation features can substantially enhance refugees’ chances of continuing their education in a different place.”
